To justify buying two iPads back in 2011, I had to promise at home that there would be a Klaverjas app for the iPad too — which turned out not to be the case at all. After waiting nine months I picked up the gauntlet myself and started developing my own app.

The app has now been in the App Store for almost 15 years, with versions for Android, Windows and Mac as well. What started as a promise made at home has grown into a game played daily by hundreds of thousands of people worldwide.
